E. Brian Finkelstein
President
Brian Finkelstein is the President & C.E.O. of Helix Financial Systems (previously IDT Horizon). Before joining Helix, Mr. Finkelstein's years of corporate management experience included senior positions at UBS, Swiss Bank Corporation, and Kidder Peabody & Company. For over a decade, Mr. Finkelstein’s vision has inspired the development of a range of management processes and tools that have greatly influenced the real-time financial management field.
Todd Berlent
Chief Information Officer
Mr. Berlent is the Chief Information Officer of Helix Financial Services. He brings two decades of technology and financial services experience to the firm, having held senior positions supporting every major fixed income market. Prior to Helix, Mr. Berlent was Director of North American Fixed Income Technology at Deutsche Bank. He has also held positions within the hedge fund industry and as CTO of a major business-to-business exchange. Mr. Berlent holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
Lou Fernandez
Vice President, Chief Technology Officer
Lou Fernandez has over fifteen years of experience in complex application development for the legal, pharmaceutical and financial markets. Under Mr. Fernandez's leadership, Helix's Repo, MBS and Back-Office applications have developed into global, Internet-based, multi-entity and multi-currency systems. As the leader of Helix's development team, Mr. Fernandez has brought its products to the next level.
Nelson Jimenez
Vice President, Director of Application Development
Nelson Jimenez has been with Helix since its inception in 1993, and plays a leading role in the design, development and implementation of the Helix platform. With two decades of experience in application integration, Mr. Jimenez specializes in interfacing Helix products with other back-office systems.
Betty Orgel
Vice President, Project Management
Betty Orgel is a certified project manager with sixteen years of software development experience. A former director for the New Jersey chapter of PMI, Ms. Orgel specializes in banking and investment technology in the US and Europe. As the senior project manager at Helix, Ms. Orgel is responsible for projects and their deliverables in addition to leading the development team to maximize efficient use of resources.
John Singler
Vice President, Product Management
After seven years managing the development of Thomson Financial’s Repo trading platform, Mr. Singler brings his expertise to Helix to help take the company’s product offerings to the next level. With a solid foundation of thirteen years trading experience in the Repo and Securities Lending market, Mr. Singler has a clear understanding of what business users need and is passionately committed to delivering it.
Bryan Vanderputten
Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Vanderputten is an experienced fixed income trader who has traded in the Repo, Cash, Money Market, Interest Rate Futures, FX, and Interest Rate Swaps markets.. Mr. Vanderputten was also the chief consultant at Société Générale in charge of installing new front and back-office systems. At Helix, Mr. Vanderputten uses his combined experience as a user and manager of fixed income applications to ensure that our systems are always developed with a client perspective in mind.
